I LOVE french toast, my husband not so much but for breakfast yesterday I made these on the fly, and he had TWO. I used what was on hand at that moment and forgot to add the bacon to the egg mixture, so we had it as a side.
As an optional extra, you can add mushrooms. Another plus is that these can be made the night before if you are catering for a larger group.
They are really super easy to make. Here are the directions.
Overnight French Toast

|Cook time||20 minutes|
|Total time||40 minutes|
|Allergens||Egg, Milk, Wheat|
|Misc||Pre-preparable, Serve Hot|
- 8 Eggs
- 5 Slices of bread (cut in 1cm cubes)
- Salt and pepper to taste
|Whisk the eggs and season to taste|
|Cut the bread into cubes and ditribute between 4 large muffin trays|
|If you are adding mushrooms and bacon into the mix add it now and mix it through the bread|
|Pour the eggs over the bread, making sure everything is covered.|
|Add cling wrap over the mixture and put it into the fridge for an hour or if you are preparing it for the next day, add it to the fridge overnight ready for the next day|
|Preheat the oven to 180° C and bake until golden|
