This week I know I was supposed to give my how to on these cutesy fridge magnets, but due to some lighting issues it will only be posted tomorrow. BUT I have an even easier option to make your very own fridge magnets for under R35. And it is a very nice activity to do with your kids.
List of supplies
- Mini pegs (purchased at PNA, but Merrypak also stocks them)
- Embellishments (I used lady bugs, purchased at Merrypak, but you can get it at PNA or any craft store)
- A glue gun or very strong cold glue (I have mine for a few years and I can’t remember where I purchased mine but Pick n Pay, GAME or any hardware store should stock them)
- A role of magnetic strip, the one I bought is self adhesive (purchased at PNA)
Using the glue, glue the embellishments to your peg, I decided to have it in the center facing the closed end of the peg. In that way the ladybug is always looking down.
Cut the magnetic strips to just shorter than the peg.
Cut the strip length ways to make 2 strips, the magnetic strip is wide enough for this
Remove the strip on the back of the magnetic strip, and stick it to the back of the peg. If for some reason you think the magnetic strip will come off, use glue to stick the strip to the peg.
And that is it… I think they so cute and brightens up your kitchen and now you have the option of having your own personalised magnets.
